Recapping the First 90 Days of Healthy Returns
This isn’t a 2024 predictions article, I promise.
I started Healthy Returns to figure out why healthcare is so broken and who’s trying to fix it.
After 11 conversations with entrepreneurs, investors, and physicians, it’s clear that the future of healthcare is prevention.
Here are my biggest takeaways from each of the episodes so far:
Ep. 1: Brian Ferguson - Arena Labs
Healthcare teams operate in similar high-risk environments to soldiers, performers, and athletes. They should prepare as such.
Ep. 2: Calley Means - TrueMed
Scrutinizing healthcare incentives is not only warranted. It’s completely necessary.
Ep. 3: CiCi Bellis - Cartan Capital
Athletes are poised to become prolific investors in health and wellness.
Ep. 4: Dr. Ryan Greene - Monarch Athletic Club
Modern-day gyms must offer more than just personal training. Consumers demand comprehensive well-being services for all aspects of their health.
Ep. 5: Jim Crowell - The SageHouse
Fitness companies that become successful are always thinking about customer needs and problems.
Ep. 6: Joshua Bonhotal - TXV Partners
Human performance is not just a niche concept for athletes to consider. It is instead a new paradigm that will undoubtedly change the type of care being delivered.
Ep. 7: Dr. Patrick Carroll - Hims & Hers
D2C companies are reinventing primary care through better access and price transparency.
Ep. 8: Dr. Tara Bishop - Black Opal Ventures
The convergence of health and tech will help turn clinical evidence into models of care not currently offered by traditional healthcare.
Ep. 9: Jess Schram - Remedy Product Studio
Healthcare consumerization is increasing the accessibility and affordability of quality preventive solutions.
Ep. 10: Dr. Katherine Saunders - Intellihealth
Obesity should be treated as the complex chronic disease it is.
Ep. 11: Jennifer Newell - Betty’s Co.
The future of healthcare needs to take Gen Z into account.
Healthy Returns in 2024
Look forward to more podcast episodes and articles as well as some new forms of content in 2024. Weekly conversations and newsletters will continue to evolve as the Healthy Returns identity takes shape.
On a similar note, I’m looking to build a team of forward-thinkers who believe in prevention as the future of healthcare.
